Volvik Vivid Matte Black Golf Balls

These golf balls are great for performance. I never saw a black golf ball so I had to try them. Well they are easy to see against a white or blue sky but unfortunately this is not where you try to find them once they land. The black ball is hard to follow when it is rolling far away and it blends in in leaves or divots. It is fun to pull these out and give to someone as a novelty or put in your collect. Years from now you can look back and say remember that black ball experiment Volvik tried...yeah never caught on. I got one in my collection if you want to see it ?

I love Volvik yet I was skeptical of an all Black ball. Turns out I couldn't have been more wrong. The ball contrasts perfectly with the Sky, it's impossible to miss in flight. I live in the Bay Area and the ground is often moist, so when the ball got wet the reflection made it shine against the grass like the prominence of the sun during totality of a solar eclipse. The drawback is when I hit in into the bushes or out of bounds, it was pretty much unfindable. Definitely for the golfer who knows the course well!

I love the ball but the color black is very hard to see once it hits the ground...you will go right by it in the fairway because it will blend in with divots

I love the other colors mainly because of how easy they are to spot. I bought the black ones because it didn’t seem like a bright color and I wanted to test them. I was right. First shot of the tee rolled through the fairway and into the rough. Gone. Dropped and hit a second shot that was just right of the green. Gone. Hit a shot off the second tee over a hill into what I thought was the fairway. But after creating the hill, gone. The other 3 packs will go in the closet never to be used again.
