I played golf with a friend of mine
He recommended these balls and told me his balls were really soft. By god I tried his balls and they were soft. I love it when my golf buddies let me use these soft balls.

Super Soft vs. Power Soft
I emailed Nike about the difference between the two. Basically, it's last year's ball (super soft) with a compression change from 62 to 60. Below is the email I received back from Nike.Enjoy. It's and AWESOME ball. -------------------------------------------- Response (Russ) - 06/20/2007 03:04 PM Hello Jeff, Thank you for contacting Nike regarding the Power Distance Power Soft golf balls. I keep coming back to this ball
I've been a Nike ball guy since Tiger made the switch. I've played most of Nike's models including One Platinum and One Black. I still perfer the performance of the Power Distance Soft over any other Nike model. I found it hard to shape shots with the One ball, I could only hit it straight. I can control my shots with the Nike Power Distance Soft and I love the feel from driver to putter. I drive typically between 280-300 vs 265-280 with the One, ProV1, and HX Tour balls.

Nike Green Box PowerSoft PowerDistance
My Driver swing is about 100MPH and this ball feels better than Nike One Platinum or ProV1. Its cover is more durable than a ProV1 and about the same as the Nike One Platinum. Flies well, works left/right very well, and spins nicely on the green. Even feels great putting. I can't see any reason for a non-scratch golfer to hit (or lose) more expensive balls. You'd be AMAZED at how many ProV1 and ProV1x balls I find in the woods!!! I have switched to this ball essentially exclusively. When you can buy

Response
In regards to the previous post the ball that Consumer Reports graded was the 2006 version of the Power Soft. The version now on site is the 2007. Thanks.

This is not the the Nike Power Distance Super Soft
This is not the Nike Power Distance Super Soft that was Consumer Reports Best Buy. Sure, Nike used the same box, but just look at the name in the corner of the box. Maybe it performs the same, maybe not? Maybe Nike just put a new name on it to charge more money for it? I don't know for sure, but buyer be aware.
