Product Description

The TaylorMade RocketBallz golf balls are the newest introduction to TaylorMade's fast growing ball line. This 3-piece ball features a soft and extremely fast React™ core formulation and SpeedMantle™ technology. What this means, is that you will experience longer drives because less spin is generated off the tee. However, the thin and soft Iothane cover of the RocketBallz provides great feel and spin around the green, so you get the spin right where you need it. Experience the new RocketBallz golf balls and experience insane velocity for insane distance, while not sacrificing feel around the green.

  • Soft and fast REACT core formulation
  • New SPEEDMANTLE for insane velocity and added iron spin for all swings
  • Thin and soft lothane cover for great feel and added spin around the greens

good ball
Despite what some of the others said, I think this ball is great. People are saying they are losing distance but I don't know how. Yes it is a spin first ball but i don't notice any change in distance, if any, positive yards. Feels great and hits nice. Burner is still my favorite though.

Rocket Misfire - Back to the drawing boards.
Compared to the Burner TP, Not as good. Not as good on drives (shorter), not as good from 150 on in (less control around the greens), and not as good on the green (must be firmer). Also doesn't feel as soft and gives off an odd clink sound. Don't like the packaging or the green numbers. Hope this is only a 1 time (1 year product) and they make changes for next year. Otherwise may have to switch golf ball brands. More in line with the cheap Maxfli and cheap Top Flights. Gave it a 3 because they don't have a 2.5.

Perfect for High Handicapper
I was playing Pentas until I heard a radio spot where a Taylor Made rep explained the differences between their lines. The RocketBallz sounded perfect for a high handicapper like me ... and for half the price. The rep was right. I get about 10 extra yards off the tee and 5+ extra yards with my irons. Tee shots stay straight and they are stopping on a dime with my wedges. I even back them up once in a while.

excellent
I am a low handicap player and hve always played a premiun ball.A friend of mine gave me one of these balls to try and noticed I was was gettin about 20 to 25 yards off the driver and 10 to 15 yards with my irons.I have played in two tournaments with these balls since and am very impressed with the performance. It has enough spin to stop when you want so you can actually attack pins from short distance without worrying about overspinning the ball.It stops just about where it lands. At almost half the price of Pro Vs it is well worth the price.

No personality
I tried these then my son gave them a try. One of the worst ball I have ever played. No feel and as my son said no personality. He gave away the last two and not worth keeping.

Rocket Ballz
I feel that the Rocket Ballz is better than the TM Tour Burner. It is slighly longer and over-all above average. I've played TP Black;Burner; Burner Tour and Noodle Rocket Ballz is tops. Had my brother [10 hdcp] compare to Pro V. He claimed equal over all.

not bad
For the price this is a great ball . Driver distance is good and the green side spin is better than most at this price range. All in all for this price point you will be very happy. The name has to go but the ball feels like a higher end ball..

Decent Ball
I bought a dozen to try them. Good distance and good spin. On a well struck ball, it usually stops at or near the ball mark sometimes spins back. More expensive balls like the Srixon Z Star X and NXT Tours are longer with similar or better spin around the greens. The Wilson Duo is longer but doesn't have as much spin. Good feel and sound off the clubs. I plan on sticking with the NXT Tour for courses with harder greens and the Wilson Duo for softer greens.

Rocket? Maybe not so much!
I bought a box of the new Rocketballz last week and went to give them a try in 60 degree weather on a local course. I a 16 handicap and I can hit most drives 260 to 270 yards with the average Slazenger ball. I decided to compare my game of a 85mph swing against the Bridgestone Nero-soft and just see how much if any real difference I found in these two balls while my friend was hiting his Slazenger at his 110mph swing. What I found was both balls have a similar carry distance off the tee, I did get pumped for one shot with Rocketballz that went 275 yards and it appears to have a soft landing. It plays well around the green and rolls very true on the green as well. I found that it has less spin than the Nero-soft off the wedges and side spin is severe if you don't hit it on the sweet spot. I don't think it is worth the price when you compare it to a Slazenger or the Nero-soft. The low handicaper that is going to shoot in the 70s with whatever ball you reach them will love this 3 piece ball , but the average weekend golfer might gain a little distance off the driver. Just remember this cover is soft , easy to damage by cart path and at $29 a dozen you can own 24 Slazengers.
